How To Register for Lacrosse!

Lacrosse is the fastest growing sport in Utah!  In 2019 the UHSAA will sanction lacrosse as a high school sport.  Our youth programs feed into the high school programs and is a great way to get started.

Lone Peak currently fields 3 girls teams for 3-8th graders.  9th graders and up participate in the high school program.  Our high school girls team has made it to the state semi-finals two years in a row and is a really fun team to be a part of!  We have both JV and Varsity teams.

Registration and Dates:

Registration is now open for Fall 2017 season!  Games are played on Saturdays starting Sep 9th and ending October 15th.  Register Here: http://www.imlaxutah.org/page/show/1691325-register?_ga=2.223915357.732067011.1500402250-1604953909.1488384381

Practices:

Practices will start August 28th.  They are Mondays 3-4:30, Thursdays 4-5:30pm at Ridgeline Elementary School.

Fees:

In addition to the league fees ($65-$85 depending on grade), the team fees are $65 cover our field rental, coaching, and pinnies for each girl.  If you already have a Girls Lone Peak Lacrosse pinney from the previous season, we will refund you $20 of your team fee.  These pinnies can be reused in future seasons.

Participating in a lacrosse team also requires a US Lacrosse Membership of $30 per year.  The registration link will direct you to the website to obtain a US Lacrosse number

We have scholarship options for girls who need help covering the League fees.  This is issued by the league.  Contact them at info@utahlax.org.

We also have field set up and monitor opportunities for anyone who would also like to earn back some of their fees.  This is open to anyone over 16.  The pay is $10-12 per game (approx 1 hour) You can find more information here.

Equipment:

Each girl will need:

1.  Colored mouthguard.  This cannot be white or clear.  It doesn't need a strap.  We usually buy several at Walmart for around $1 because they are frequently lost and kids are always losing teeth, etc.  It is a good idea to have a backup.  They are often sold out when the season begins.  This is another good option on Amazon.

2.  Girls Lacrosse Stick.  This STX crux one from Amazon is popular with beginners.  Boys and girls sticks are different.  Girls need a girls stick.

3.  Protective Lacrosse goggles.  STX, Brine, Under Armor, Nike, DeBeer are all brands that make lacrosse goggles.  You can find them on Amazon.  Tribal West in Sandy is a lacrosse specific store and has options as well.  Dicks is another good place to look.

A lot of girls get a package like this one from Dicks Sporting Goods.  The league has coupons as well so it works out to be about $80 for the stick, goggles and lacrosse carrying bag.  The bag isn't necessary but nice to have.

Each girl will get a ball when the season starts.  But it is a good idea to have a few around the yard so they can practice catching, cradling, wall ball, etc.
